Question

Which size laptop screen is best for watching films on etc?

Sep 7, 2018 4:12AM PDT

Hi, I want to buy a new laptop and am wondering which size screen to choose this time. I will be using it to watch films and youtube vids. I prefer this to watching them on TV nowadays. So I would like a decent size screen, but don't want to compromise sharpness and quality for the sake of a big screen.. anyone have any advice what is the best size to go for? Thanks.

How far away will you be when viewing the movies? Is the laptop going to be plugged in or will you be using battery power? And how much are you going to be carrying the laptop around?

Obviously, it's a personal choice but in my opinion, the bigger, the better, within reason. If you're viewing videos while plugged in at a desktop or from a couch further away, then I like 15" or larger screens as they are easier to see. But they're heavier and tend to use more battery power, meaning less viewing time on battery.

If you want something lighter for carrying more often, and you use them while on battery power, then a good balance might be the 13 to 14 inch models.

Hope this helps.
