I'm wondering whether the additional case, warranty, and headphones on Newegg are worth it

Which network?

I know Nexus will work well on ATT. One plus has to fiddle with support to get your IMEI added, not too bad, the ZTE is new, they have purchased IMEI blocks that don't work with LTE on ATT in the past. So as a new phone, you will be taking a risk.
Personally, I go for the sure thing, Nexus 6p

Google's own Nexus line. The 5X is 399 here. I'd get that instead.

Notorious for no support. Iffy OS upgrades and other sad stories.

I really like the pure Android play. CNET reviews it at http://www.cnet.com/products/google-nexus-5x/ and for 226! If I didn't have 3 phones on my desk right now, I'd get the 5X.

What's on my work desk right now?
Apple 5s
LG G4
Some Bluedoo Chinese cheepie.
