Both are good. Most people prefer Windows 10, but some like Windows 7 more or have hardware that doesn't run Windows 10.

Try Them Both.. Only You Can Decide...

It's up to you. I use them both and they've both worked well. At this point, since Windows 7 will only get security updates till next spring, 2020, if you're purchasing a new computer, you should consider carefully what you need to do with the operating system.

Hope this helps.

Well if you purchase a new PC

with the newest processors it will ONLY work with Windows 10 as the drivers for Windows 7 will have problems with the latest generation of processors. Intel, MS and AMD had a deal resulting in this. Also in December 2018 Windows 10 surpassed Windows 7 in the amount of users.

Experience Matters

Our company using both Window 10 or Window 7 Operating system. Our company is based on affiliations and need systems which can afford load. According to our experience. If you are a normal user that uses only a few things and few normal software on your computer with advances windows features. We suggest you work with Windows 10. Because it is best to use Windows 10 which is an advanced technology according to the new generation and helps to work with advanced features. If you want to use Windows 10 for your high power software, you have to use the system which can afford load for all the system functions as well as high power software functions and online functions.

If you are a developer or you have to work on high priorities with low system ability. You feel that Windows 7 is best for you.

Now You have to experience and decide which system is best for you.

Win7 or Win10

I prefer windows 7, but if you want to get a new PC with it pre-loaded, good luck! I tried to get Win7 put on a new PC with Win10 and had all kinds of problems with drivers, so that isn't really an option. I ended up putting Win10 back on it so everything worked. But, if you can find a new PC with Win7, which is not easy, you may not have too many choices; but if you really like Win7, go for it. For minimal headaches, stick with Win10

Your choice but...

Both are "good" operating systems so you can choose whichever you like, always assuming your PC is capable of running Win10 - Not all Win7 systems can, NS/NX bits missing etc.

But, if you plan on running Windows 7 after January 2020 and intend connecting to the Internet, you must work out how you are going to protect that system after the security patches cease. Windows 7 will still have a user base significant enough to attract the hackers and the security patches for Win 8.1 and 10 may point them in the direction where 7 is vulnerable.

If you stick with 7 and need to upgrade or replace your hardware, as others have said, drivers may be a problem and that situation will only get worse as time passes.

Personally, I'm not planning to go to 10, the data it collects is too much and I still believe my PC is mine, not Microsoft's! I will be keeping a couple of Win7 machines, for applications (Acrobat Pro, my scanner and Canon camera software) that Linux doesn't support but the rest will move to Linux, OpenSUSE Leap for the 64 bit machines and Mint/Cinnamon for the two remaining 32 bit systems.

Your choice is up to you, these things are called Personal computers, after all!

Some opinions are simply WRONG!

There are people who cling to Windows 7 and go around badmouthing Windows 10. These people are idiots or luddites. Don't listen to them.

Windows 10 is superior in every possible way. It is better laid-out and more logical. It is far more visually attractive, stable, reliable and capable. And it will be updated forever, if you can believe what Microsoft has always claimed about it. Support for 7 will go away well within the expected life of a new system.

Note that I have worked with computers since before most people on these forums were born. I have used so many operating systems that I cannot count them. My first machines used punchcards programmed by throwing eight switches and hitting "commit" for each byte -- they didn't even have terminals, and the printers were chain-driven. I have used MVS, VMS, Unix (my native tongue) in so many flavors that it's absurd, weirdos like PrimeOS, and many others.

Windows 10 is the way to go. Trust me on this.

Depends on what you use computer for

Word processing? Internet? Email? Consider Linux Mint 19, the top Linux OS today. It's also free. Been using myself since 2013 after leaving XP.
