Which Operating System in Cell phone is best & why ?
1) Android
2) Symbian
3) Windows

As my colleage Bob said in an answer to your other post, you have to define your criteria first. Without that, there is no best.
I know people who would say that iOS is the best. And maybe, in half a year, Tizen.
By the way, why didn't you include the Blackberry OS in your list. They launched a nice new version this year.

The OP's question is like debating which ice cream flavor is the best. We all have opinions but there is no distinctive answer to the question.
And what if it fails to do what it set out to be first? That is, a phone.
You left out the other dozen or more Phone operating systems. Why?

As far as I know about the phone operating systems then Windows is the best if you keep your criteria as speed. Windows is the fastest operating system in the mobile phones. But if you are crazy about apps then you should go for Android based phone because Android has a lot more apps as compared to Windows operating system.
Everyone has his own views. What I wrote in my earlier comment is based on my own personal view because I have used phones with both Windows and Android operating system.
MSFT has shown that they will leave you stranded as well as lock you out of installing apps from anywhere but their store.
As an app writer their cut is rather thuggish too.

Undoubtedly the Android mobile OS is best among all others. The major reason behind that is the openness provided by Android. Android mobile OS is an open-source OS. It makes it simpler to make desired customizations on Android device,
Undoubtedly iOS is the best among all others. The major reason behind that is 'closeness' provided by Apple. That makes it nearly impossible to mess up the OS by doing wrong things with it, either inside an app or by a experimenting user.

I really don't know how to irretrievably screw up an Android phone. Interrupt an O/S update maybe? But you could screw up an iPhone the same way.
IMHO, the Android OS is less vulnerable than the Apple iOS for potential screw ups.
IMHO = In My Honest Opinion. I don't have to provide a specific example. I am much more fond of Android and I am not trying to impose my opinion on anybody. Are you trying to be difficult ??
Undoubtedly NoOS is the best among all others. The major reason behind that is that it is nearly 100% reliable and virtually indestructible. That makes it nearly impossible to mess up the OS as, er, there is none. You can drop your phone out of a second story window and it will still work fine, if a bit scratched up as there's no LCD to crack. In 50 years of use, I can count the number of incomplete or dropped calls on one hand. The service was never down even once (that I've noticed), even when the World Trade Center was destroyed. Well, updates don't come very often, but I have recently replaced my rotary dial phone with a push-button one... and I didn't even have to renew my contract!

My answer is based on the fact that, that is what my current phone is. I imagine that most (if not all) will respond similarly. Most people only use one cell phone and therefore are not in a position to answer your posed question.
Most people that use more than one cell phone operating system are either tech specialists or just weird.
Android. Period. It is more versatile, more adaptable, and more capable than the others. It uses less bandwidth than iOS, and Blackberry is so obsolete that it is likely to go away completely soon.
My choice for second place, a DISTANT second place, is a tough one. For the moment I might give it to iOS, but Windows 8 is coming up fast on the outside and the race is far from over.

Android is better OS than Windows because it has more features than windows and is it very fast.
How it is implementing on a particular piece of hardware would make a phone feel 'fast'.
Using custom ROMs is one example of how one might speed up a handset (or two).
I will ask you the same question you asked earlier in this thread. Can you explain why ??

Based on factors like User friendly, Ample no. free apps, Fast in Response, Bug Free, Stable for long time... you can decide the OS best suited for you.
Come to one by one...
Eventhough Andriod initial versions are with bugs, but latest versions become stable and user friendly... but it still makes the device slow after a certain period of usage. As the uninstalled apps or some processes still running in the background eating your processor performance and RAM which won't show by it. By considering available apps and user friendliness andriod wins the race.
Considering Windows, eventhough it is more responsive and eats less usage, it carries lot of complaints with it. it can't compete with the apps in andriod and also user friendliness.
Considering iOS, it is the stable and more responsive, even after long time of usage device performance can't be affected. So it is the Best considering the response, Bug free and stable ness. But still it can't compete the Andriod in app store.
So it is upto one on which factor he gives more weightage decides his best OS.

I know, I know, it's based on BSD, not Linux, but still ultimately Unix-based
