Which one to keep??

by radcad92 / August 7, 2008 3:13 AM PDT

I have a Hp Pavilion dv6633us Entertainment Notebook PC. I have Vista Home Premium. I use MSN Premium. They just sent me an e-mail stating my MSN VirusGuard & Firewall will expire if I don't update them. When I try to do that I get a message that says I must first remove the Windows Live OneCare Virusscan & Firewall. Which one is better? Which one should I keep? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

i stopped paying for anti virus software early last year when i discovered avg and its free and you can get it at it has the antivirus and the firewall which you can use in conjunction with windows firewall. i tried norton and macefee and they olny caught some of the bad stuff avg caught that and the other stuff the others did not catch

AVG Rocks!

I've been using AVG for quite some time now and will never go back to the Norton, McAfee, etc... pricey progs.

Wya back then when I removed Norton from my PC and installed AVG my PC speed jumped substantially. AVG found several things that Norton had been ignoring for years (apparently) and that served to make additional speed improvements.

OK, so I'm a fan of AVG - but I make no apologies for it Wink

which one is better.
I'm protected with freeware (Avast, Threatfire, Comodo Firewall plus a few demand scanners and tools) and it's all good.
You could go that route, or pay to renew a sub. Either way, be very careful about opening attachments in any IM program.
Get MalwareBytesAntiMalware, enable the context menu on install, and scan anything with it prior to opening.

Norton and some other companies bill you for renewal with out telling you. Free does not always work, but I have had no problems you decide.
