Which One BDP-1600 or 3200?

May 7, 2009 1:56AM PDT

I am debating on whether to get the BDP 1600 or 3200. The debate lies in this I have a XBOX 360 so streaming music isn't a problem however i am not a fan of the whole flip down design that the 1600 possess'. I also think that the intergrated 1 GB would be cool to access BD live stuff. Opinions? Thanks.

Hi,
The P3600 (I presume that is what you meant when you typed 3200?) has the integrated 1GB flash memory and includes a USB wireless adapted.

The wireless adapter is handy for connecting to your wireless network and streaming media and BD live content. If you are lucky enough to live in the US you can also stream Netflix films (why this isn't available in the UK I don't know... I think our bits drive on the same side as yours Wink)

However you I have an Xbox 360 to do my media streaming, so the P3600 streaming may be of limited use.

You can also buy the wireless USB adapter seperately, so you could hook it up to a P1600 in the same way.

The P3600 has 7.1 analog out, which if you have an old pre HDMI amp but with 7.1 in will be very useful.

From a processing point of view I believe the 1600 and 3600 both use the same display hardware so no real diffence there.

The down side... price! Sad

Oh and the P3600 is much prettier imho.

Hope that is of some help.
Thanks

Yes I did mean 3600. I think that I am going to go with the 3600 because it comes with the wifi adapter and the onboard memroy. The adapter by itself is $80 which brings the 1600 right up to the price of the 3600. Thanks for the input!!!
