General discussion

Which one and why. What am I gonna buy

Feb 26, 2011 12:25AM PST

I bought a 4gig sylvania mp3 player the other day and it sucked.

I loaded it with a bunch of tunes and it always starts at the same song and was unable to understand that I want it to randomize the library and go back where it left off.

What do I want.

Just a player that will take a load without taking forever, or complaining. I can't read that super tiny text on a screen or the micro manual they provide that only does nothing well anyway.

What do I want?

Do I need an I pod?

Is there something for way less that rocks?

Point me in a direction.

Lots of choices.

For me it's just a few choices. My droid phone, ipods and others. Beware those that are overly excited about such players but after awhile you see there are a few camps. Some that can't stand itunes or tolerate it.

If price is an issue try the refurbs at apple.com

I'm currently happy with my ipod, though I bought it on a very affordable price, well its cute and the features are just right. Wish you luck on buying a new gadget.

Sansa Clip Plus

Sansa Clip meets every of those requirements. Or a Fuze I suppose. I'm on my second Clip, it'd more intuitive to use than any electronics product I've owned.

Apple's products, while undoubtedly trailblazing, are definitely harder to use. And I for one can't stand iTunes.

I'll re-post this comparison from another site:

Apple iPod Shuffle vs. Sansa Clip Plus

Clip has 2 gb more memory
Clip costs $8 less
Clip has an FM radio, a digital voice recorder, easy to read display, and MicroSD slot. Shffle has none of these features, yet again it costs $8 more.

First two posts I've made here are on the Sansa Clip ... mods I am not employed by Sansa
