General discussion

Which of them is more updated?

Jul 18, 2006 5:28PM PDT

I have installed Macromedia Flash MX 2004 in my PC, but the assignment requires Flash 8.
Can anyone tell me if I have got the right version installed?

Kwokwai,

There's a Flash 8 Basic and a Flash 8 Professional, that has more features. You're not clear on which of those versions your assignment needs.

And, yes, MX 2004 is an older version. Only your instructor can tell you if it suffices for his assignment or not, and if the application you make with it can - in principle - be acceptable. I can't.

Flash 8 basic?

I can only see Flash 8 pro in Adobe website, but can't see Flash 8 basic there.
Could you tell me the URL for Flash 8 basic?

The link should be without space.

http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/basic/

Why can WE find this, and Kwokwai not?
I went to www.macromedia.com, came on www.adobe.com, clicked on flash in the list of products, clicked on flash pro vs. flash basic in the column on the right, and that's it. Rather simple read-and-click.

"the affordable authoring environment designed for the aspiring professional". That's a perfect description of Kwokwai: he's aspiring to become a professional (but still has a very long way to go).

Darn forums again...

I just typed "flash 8 basic" into the address bar in Firefox and it took me right to it. I did a direct copy of the URL, but apparently the forum software thought that an added space would make it look more appealing? I can't wait for the rework!
