Question

Which of the laptops specified in the details would best?

Mar 3, 2015 2:46AM PST

I am looking for a basic laptop. It will be used mainly for browsing the internet, checking email, Facebook, etc. It will not be used for photo/video editing or gaming.

Which of the following would be my best option?
- HP 15-F039WM
- Toshiba C55-B5298
- Acer ES1-512-P84G

Thanks!

The current #1 is similar to your HP in many ways but looks to beat HP on price and more.

My wife's travel laptop is the Asus x200ca which is same CPU, RAM and HDD so that works very well for email, web and more. HP is not a brand I buy due to their failure to perform on warranty for me. 3 month old laptop, broken in their repair and 6 months later, no repair. Not a company I can write nice about.

These dual core celeron 4GB models are not speedy but will get the job done.

The Asus that's currently #1 was in contention too. The HP is on the list only because it's $250 (sold by Walmart) & has a DVD R/W, which the other models do not offer. I haven't had great luck with HP products in the last few years either- hoping they would hold up better if used only for basic stuff.

Just a side note

I'm tossing out a bunch of cd's /dvd's , I really don't use them much since flash drives are so inexpensive and have a lot of storage space....
just sayin'
Digger

That's very true...the DVD player may be useful while traveling, etc - but I cannot decide if it's worth taking a chance with the HP just for (the few times I may need it for) that. Sigh.
