Which MP3 is best for recording large amounts of music?

Nov 29, 2005 3:59AM PST

Does ANYONE know of a mp3 player/recorder that has massive storage space & will allow me to record my vinyl & tapes directly to mp3 format WITHOUT the use of pc, pre-amplifiers, etc.? Please help!

most players that have recording will record in .WAV format, but that can easily be converted to MP3.

I believe Creative makes very good recording, as does Cowon.

I believe Cowon's X5 has the best recording I've ever used.

Thanks for the reply! I was beginning to think I had asked a stupid question or something. I'm looking for something that will record my vinyl collection as mp3's immediately. WAV files are so huge, I'd run out of space after one album. Phillips had one that claimed it would do exactly what I wanted, but they seemed to have discontinued it.
