ReL laptop for granddad

I looked at the hoyle games at http://download.cnet.com/Hoyle-Board-Games/3000-18522_4-202155.html to give a good advice.

- Those games say they are for Windows 98 through XP. There's a very good chance they will run on Windows 7 also, but better check before you buy. If not, consider a second hand XP laptop.
- The screen should have such a resolution that all game boards show in their entirety. I don't expect a problem, but better check also.
- For a lot of components the minumum specs of a current laptop are MORE that enough. That includes CPU (Celeron suffices), RAM (2 GB for Windows 7 suffices), hard disk (you won't find a laptop with less than 250 GB probably), video (any on-board video is fine). That's cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap (4 times for the 4 components).
- Screen size and resolution combined should be suited for your granddads sight, both for the text of mails and the games. You can only check that in the shop by trying.
- Keyboard should be such that your granddad likes it.
- He might have a preference for glare or non-glare screen.
- Size and weight might matter.
