Which laptop drive will I need

May 25, 2009 9:22AM PDT

Ok, I actually just bought a drive. But I'm not sure it's the right type for my laptop. My computer is an XP celeron running at 2.3 gigs or so, with 2 gigs of memory. It's about 5 years old.

The manual says it takes a Ultra ADA 100/150. The salesman at CompUSA steered me away from the SATA300's to a PATA300. I think that contradicts what somebody else told me.

So which drive will work for me?
Thanks,
Eric

They did get you the right interface for the drive.

You won't know if it works till it's installed and you install some operating system to it.
