Which is the best ????

Sep 14, 2010 8:20AM PDT

I would like to know which phone is the best phone. Not which phone has the best features. A phone's main purpose is to send and receive calls. Which phones do that the best???

I am also looking to buy a camera, and want to know which takes the best pictures. Not the camera with the best features, but which one does what it is supposed to do best.

Whenever I am looking to buy electronics, this is the first place I look.

You might need features like "macro" to make macro pictures. And "zoom" to zoom. And manual settings to make the best pictures in circumstances like fast moving subjects or dark environments.

All phones can phone. What kind of quality criterion do you have in mind to discriminate between 'good calling' and 'bad calling'?

features of camera's

Thanks for replying Kees. Which phone's have the least dropped calls, and best call quality. I understand alot of that is subjective to location, but some phone's are better than others.

I agree with camera features, I use macro and zoom, there are a whole lot of people who are really just looking for simple, easy and good quality photo's. I purchased a camera using cnet 6 years ago, and after extensive (and boy do I mean extensive) reading, I found one. I just was hoping for a way to streamline the process this next time, just looking for quality photo's in automatic mode.

Oh and by the way, the camera a lumix 5mp camera that has taken some most excellent images, a couple of them have been published, and a calendar is in the works. Thanks cnet

Today my Lumex DMC-LZ2 dropped from 1 foot and broke. over 5000 pictures taken and the photo quality for scenery was the most excellent I had come across. Now that fall is here, I can't capture the beauty of the season. It was a simple point and shoot with macro and mega zoom and I need to replace it immediately. I am so depressed.

I purchased a DMC-ZR1 Lumex and went out to take pictures. I took a couple of pictures that I had taken with my old camera (both in auto mode) what a piece of crap the new one is. The old camera's colors were so much more vibrant. All of the new camera's pictures seem muddled and slightly out of focus. I was 20 feet from some deer and only 2 out of 10 pictures were in focus (and they were soft) Nothing is as crisp or as sharp or as bright. I am pretty depressed right now. My morning picture taking expaditions were something I looked forward to, but after today, seeing the results, I might stay home tomorrow. Please Please help me find a camera that at least matches the old DMC-LZ2 images, I'm desperate!!!!
