Question

Which is better Windows 8 or Windows 10 ?

Hi Everyone, I am using Windows 7 and Win 8 in my PCs but i want to upgrade it to Win 10. I am not able to decide about it. I have read mixed review about this new version of Windows.

Please guide me if i should upgrade my OS or not? Please try to explain the advantages and disadvantages of upgrading it.

For me, I need machines to run for years.

And also that any apps I work on run on what's current. So for me, 10.

Remember I don't use the email login on 8 or 10, I don't use IE and I might install Classic Shell. For me, 10 Pro is quite the nice place to be.

Re: better

I think the reviews about Windows 10 on the average are better than the reviews on Windows 8. But it's free to try for 30 days, so why not find out yourself?

A few considerations in going to 10

First of all you should make sure your PCs are compatible with 10. Most are, but laptops are a lot more finicky about device drivers and helper apps. On the plus side 10 will be supported longer, 7 is good 'till 2020 and 8 'til 2023. All my software runs with 10, and 10 seems very stable on my test computers. Consider if there's anything in 10 that's worth the change. If what you have is doing what you want and is stable, is it worth the small risk that Murphy could strike when you make the change? Is there anything in 10 that you want or need? Also be aware that in 10 there's a lot of what I call "snoopware" that you can turn off IF you know about it, but it's turned on by default. If you have the home version of 7 or 8, you'll get the home version of 10; similarly with the Professional version. With the home version, you have zero control of updates; with the Pro version, you have some control. MS says 10 is the last version of Windows, so future enhancements will presumably be made to 10. The relative advantages and disadvantages of the above will differ from one person to another, so you need to weigh them for yourself. There is a MS FAQ on 10 at this link:

`
Good luck.

Windows 10 wins

I used Windows 8 before upgrading. I can't stand the tile windows screen, it just wasn't suitable to any laptop without a touch screen.

Chrome always crashed while I am browsing the web randomly

Chrome always crashed while I am browsing the web randomly with a message “Google Chrome has stopped working”. For the first time, it was okay, but it repeats and it really became a annoying thing.
Only encounter this problem after upgrade to windows 10.

I'd post a new thread all your own.

For me I reset Chrome and it clears up. But if that's not enough, start a new thread.

Windows 10 - holds the edge

Better performance, new and upgraded apps that includes Microsoft Edge- for all those who hated IE and much more.

Re: Edge

Can you explain why somebody would hate IE and love Edge? What is so different?

Microsoft Edge has its edge over IE

Let me put it this way,

->Its embedded with Cortana
->Browsing twice as fast as IE
->Support for Extensions
->More focus on content and many other features

Wouldn't you love it?

Answer
10 - :/

Win 10 lags hard on my old notebook, and 8 was well going enough.
