Not to mention there's no context to guide what the criteria are for comparing the two. Are we talking gaming, general computing, HPC, something else?

It's like the classic Ford v Chevy debate, or any other completely ambiguous and pointless discussion that only people with way too much time on their hands and no social life bother with.

The Mac Pro I see at http://www.apple.com/macpro/ is not a laptop and may be the most powerful personal computer you can get from "the names."

Alienware has over a dozen models so again, how could we begin this discussion?
