I have a canon powershot A80. will upgrading to a type ll compact flash card significantly improve lag time between taking shots? thanks to all in advance for your help.

I've used both. NOT in that camera though. My results found ZERO difference in a Kodak and a Canon from one type to another. HOWEVER I do have this old 8MB card that is dog slow in all cameras. I don't know why, but it's the only card that shows any speed effect.

I saw some improvement in a Nikon 4500, but it was

still slow. I now have the same card in a new Canon, and it is VERY fast. You may not see an improvement unless your camera's cpu is fast enough to drive the memory above Type I speeds.

Type II has more to do with capacity than speed.

From all the reviews I have seen, high speed camera memory does not help lag time at all. Most of your lag time is due to auto focus.
