There are three different Touch flavors: 8GB, 32GB and 64GB. The 8GB unit is actually a carryover 2G design, while the larger two are 3G units. And arguably, the new iPad in its six variations is an extension of the Touch.

Lots to choose from.

Wait for the ipad to come out, the Ipod touchs should have a price drop by then.

The 8gigs are mostly useless for a touch, once you sub track the 1.2gig or so for the O/S, then a few movies your lost about 1/2 right there. I have a 16gig gen2 and almost half of it is full with high high commpressed videos, songs do not take up much room, some apps can be 'big'.

Doubtful that the iPad will have any effect

on the prices of the iTouch.

it's a whole different market that the iPad is aimed at.
