Hi,
I have a HP Pavillion XH575 laptop running WinXP (512MB RAM). I would like to replace its hard drive. It currently has a 40GB disk that is now starting to show its age.
I am not sure which drive to buy, IDE, ATA, ATA/6 (etc.)? My question, is: which hard drive interface does my laptop has?
This is what I have done so far: I know (from the documentation I have) that the laptop has a 2.5inch. drive, but it does not say anywhere which interface it supports. I looked then on the Device Manager, clicked on Properties, chose the Details tab. In here there is a list box, which triggered my curiosity. There is a field called "Enumarator" and it says IDE.... Is this the definite answer?
Shall I go then and buy a 2.5inch IDE hard disk?
Hope I made myself understood. Thanks in advance for your help.
