ATI's X1900 or Nvidia's 7950 GX2?
Discussion is locked
The 7950GX2 is two graphics processors on two boards which are linked together. It's basically SLI, except it only uses one PCIe slot. However, the graphics processors and memory don't run at the same speeds of the 7900GTX, so therefore it's not as good as two 7900GTXs in SLI. But the 7950GX2 is available for $530, whereas two 7900GTXs will run you $850 at least.
The ATI X1900XT/X is a single graphics processor on a single board, therefore it's not fair to compare it to a 7950GX2. The X1900XT/X performs about the same as a 7900GTX.
