Which graphic card is the best???

Nov 17, 2004 3:18AM PST

Hi...
Which graphic card is the best?? Nvida Geforce or ATI and why?!?!
I want to be able to play games and to use it for 3-D AutoCAD drawings etc.
At the moment i'm looking at the Acer travelmate 8006 with the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB dedicated graphics.

Hope u can help...

Thanx...

Just FYI, in laptop land that one is very nice. But every month you have to re-evaluate this.

It's not something you can stand and say "this is it". But for today that is about the top. If there is more, it won't beat it by much.

I have read on some gaming user benchmarking sites that the ATI 9700 with 128mb dedicated RAM performs better than the equivalent Nvidia video card at this point in time.

The Dell 8600 (Pentium M Centrino) has this option of the ATI 9700 with 128mb dedicated video RAM as well as the Hitachi 7200 rpm hard drive as well .........

This topic is more suited to its own forum than a single thread. Happy Everyone will give you a different answer. I personally have always liked nVidia. Don't know why.

But the thing that disgusts me about video cards is that by the time I finish writing this post, the answer will be something different. ATI vs. Nvidia is an age-old battle. At the moment though ATI seems to have an edge. Anything in a laptop with 128 MB Ram will knock your socks off.
