Which format and/or browser to post a reply...

Aug 25, 2008 11:57PM PDT

Perhaps tomorrow will be a brighter day, but for "here and now"..

In my case, IE shows the old format. FF the beta. (FWIW and if it matters - IE was also showing the beta for the longest time, until a couple of days ago when all my IE cookies were inadvertently deleted. The action "brought me back to yellow" along w/ some temporary log-in problems)

I replied to a post earlier. I was able to view my reply using the browser I posted with (IE/Old format). I was unable to see the same reply when trying to view it using FF3/Beta format. If I copied the permalink from IE and pasted it into FF.. "Page Not Found".

I re-posted the same reply using FF. I can view the post. I won't continue to do this, as I wish not to run the risk of creating duplicates. If they are showing as duplicates.. I'm unable to see it as such.

I'm at a standstill. I hardly think posting twice, using two different browser's is the answer. But then again..... who knows? Which leads me to why I posted, "Who knows?".

With the hopes that the above is clearer than mud, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
Carol

It will not matter after today

as CNET is going 100% with the new site and the old one will not be available.

You might want to clear cache on IE and hope that today will be the brighter day that you hoped for yesterday.

Happy

I hadn't seen your post when I added my aside..

I'm left with "hoping" today will be the brighter day, as my cache couldn't be any cleaner. Here's to a smooth transition!

Thanks for the speedy reply.

As an aside..
Aug 26, 2008 12:11AM PDT

and basically what I post above..

I posted the above using FF. I'm able to see the post using FF, but when opening IE, it's "invisible to the naked eye". Sad

Perhaps, I'd be better off getting a good computing magazine and going to the beach instead. Silly
