Which firewall should I choose?

by pwmpci / April 12, 2006 11:51 PM PDT

I use Comcast, which offers McAfee firewall, I also use PC-cillin for virus protection, and they offer a firewall also. I don't know which to choose, I think that I probably should not use both.
I'm not knowledgable regarding computers and I feel that most software is not intuative. What issues will occur when I install a firewall? Will I begin to get error messages or blocked programs or email or other problems? Thanks for your help. Pete M.

Try one or the other, then choose

But, IMHO pick McAfee firewall as its free or really you already paid for it thru Comcast. Further, if you need support, Comcast or McAfee will help resolve any issues. I find PC-incliin at times puzzling, but that's me.

Upon first firewall usage, expect it to pop-up alot of pgms. that need yes/no answers in order to continue to access the www. You then must be sure of such and once done and its remembered, it becomes less and less, later only new ogms. or possible malware will want access as you already weeded through your current pgms. etc., so pay attention during initial use. Most firewalls have thier own method but usually they're realtively easy to understand once you get the hang of it.

you have to ''teach'' your firewall and also you need to configure it...

When a firewall is not configure correctly, then you may get those problem.. block program etc.

You may also get those message that asking for ''Deny or Allow'' for certain activity..

If you want to know more about firewall, you should google it ... or this http://www.howstuffworks.com/firewall.htm

Meet the drop-resistant Moto Z2 Force

The Moto Z2 Force is really thin, with a fast processor and great battery life. It can survive drops without shattering.
