Which famous virus case was this?

Mar 30, 2015 10:48AM PDT

hello,

Hello I'm trying to remember the detail of a particular, famous virus case.

This was several years ago.

The FBI had tracked a virus back to somewhere in Asia.

What was notable about this case was the way the tracked it, I believe MS windows or some Microsoft product had left a footprint in the code, and they were able to track it to this particular machine. No one know about the MS footprint so this investigation revealed new method of tracking.

I thought this might have been the "I love you' virus case which was tracked to Manila, but none of the article I have read mention the MS footprint so maybe it was a different one. Ring any bells for anyone?

Thanks

Hard to track that down given the details. There has been many "famous" ones.
