Which DVD Players are good with Burned DVD's?

Mar 5, 2005 8:41PM PST

I've got a dvd burner I am using to burn Backups of some of my stuff, as well as family video's. However most of my burned DVD's don't play in my player, but will in my neighbors. So I figure I'm off to get a new Player. Which ones will do a good job reading burns?

Other than that, here's a list of players with their features and reviews you can go through.

The Pioneer DV 250 I have from Wallymart was just 69 bucks and does fine with DVD-R disks. Any DVD+/-RW is problematic on all players except a few so I know better than to play those. Still great to use RW when crafting that first new video work.

The Artec DVDR noted at http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DR-RE12A is playing such media well.

All played dvd+r with no problem. My philips divx and my Teac (very old) played dvd+rw (no probem), however my Mitsubishi will not play dvd+rw. I think Holmes idea is a very good one.
