I guess Acer would be the least bad of the 3. I found a nice looking Acer desktop Aspire AME600-UR368 for $499.99 at http://www.microcenter.com/product/411953/Aspire_AME600-UR368_Desktop_Computer that might be worth it. I'd sure avoid Gateway. My personal brand choice for desktops is Dell, but that $350 credit would sway me to try the Acer.

Good luck.
My first PC was an Emachine desktop. It was on sale and I got what I paid for. I had nothing but trouble and the support was just as good. After going to a third party it was discovered that I had an internal "modem" that was failing intermittently. I am happy to say that computer is long gone.
My wife just told me we are getting a $350 credit toward the purchase of a Emachine, Gateway, or Acer desktop. I am wiling to add $300 to purchase the right PC.
My question is should I purchase any of these desktop PCs? If yes which one and what model?
I will gratefully appreciate any advice you can give me!
Thanks
