Which compact digital with hi resolution and zoom

I have a Canon powershot pro which takes great photos but is slow and bulky. I want a point and shoot with excellent capabilities for hi res photos, good macro and good zoom with video option and preferably a viewfinder in addition to the lcd screen but that is not a deal breaker. I am not shopping according to price, just quality of photos and ease of use. I am tired of hauling around the canon but I LOVE TAKING PICTURES. Please advise.

If you have been using a PowerShot Pro for all these years, you may be disappointed in any of the new small cameras.

They have all downsized the CCD sensors and lenses.
That has introduced way too much noise into any low light pictures.

Just recently Canon has introduced two new cameras that you might find acceptable. But the CCD sensor size is still smaller than what the Pro uses.

thanks so much. looks like the panasonic wins..Panasonic ZS1 and ZS3.

do u know which retailers, online or otherwise, have good return policies? i like to have the return option once i have tried a camera. costco is great for this but i doubt they carry this camera.
