Which Codec For My Phillips MP4 Player ??

Sep 9, 2009 12:09AM PDT

Hi

I recently purchased a phillips MP4 player installed the software and began downloading audio files, all was great untill i tried to download a video file when a pop up window confirmed!! i could not download video files to my MP4 device because i don't have the right MPEG codec installed in my system. It then went on to provide a link to Arcsoft Media Converter to where i could purchase the codec. I thought after purchasing the MP4 and installing the software i didn't need anything else?? do i really have to buy a MPEG codec or can i get it free online??

Think I Got It Wrong!!
Sep 10, 2009 10:29AM PDT

I downloaded Realplayer Converter to convert the video files to the MP4 but when trying to select the files from browse they wouldn't show up in the library. I think its because i used DVD Shrink to upload the files to my system, i think i got it wrong? i think what i need to do is download a DVD ripper then rip the DVD then use RealPlayer to convert the files to the MP4 ??

sorry for the confusion but I've never done this before.

All that I'm trying to do is download a DVD to my MP4. I have the Phillips SA3245 Go Gear 4GB MP4 Player, I've already installed the software (ArcSoft Media Converter) but when trying to download video files that I've ripped from DVD Shrink, AMC tells me that my system does not have the correct codec to download the files, what exactly do i need to do ???
