Olympus SP-800 & Canon SX30

These appear to be much the same but there are differences you should know about.

For a side-by-side look at the specifications go here and follow the instructions:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sidebyside.asp

The intermediate or advanced photographer needs manual controls such as Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and Full Manual.
Only the Canon has that.

If you want an external flash, only the Canon has a hot-shoe.

If you want fast continuous shooting ability, only the Olympus provides that.

The SP-800 is slightly better because it shows more detail, when the photo is shown at full size.
