miniDV tape based. Before we go further, we need to know if your computer has a working firewire port... The only way you'll get the video from the digital tape into your computer will be via firewire - IEEE1394 - connection. No USB.
Hey CNET, i really, really hope you guys can help me buying a new cam. This is the first camcorder i've ever bought and i kind of want it to last a while though they may actually not, the ones im looking at.
Im going to make films about skating, skiing, snowboarding and
documenting parties. I've chosen between Canon XM-2, Sony Vx2000, Sony
I found a place where i can get them used,
here are the prices and cams;
1. Sony Vx2000 with fisheye,
price: $USD 729.86,
catch: used two times and i cannot see the quality before i buy so i may get scammed.
2. Canon XM-2 with light on top,
catch: error while
transfering into a computer, so i get another cam for free to do it
without destroying quality.
3. Sony VX 2100E,
catch: no apparent catch
4. Canon XM2,
catch: Don't get to see quality of cam before i pay so i may get scammed.
please help, thanks!
