7.2
Sep 27, 2005 12:59PM PDT

I have downloaded 8.0 but until it has an email addition I don't use it.
I prefer the way Netscape handles messages and pictures. I'm very confident in it since most viruses are aimed at IE and Outlook.
I also prefer the way it handles 'Favorites' ( bookmarks in Netscape ).

Netscape 7.2
Sep 28, 2005 8:52PM PDT

I would give the newer Netscape 8.01 a try-. Its very secure, fast and sleek. I have used IE for years-although Netscape 2 was my first browser way back in early 1997. IE 6 is unusable now because of the massive spy ware infestation.

Firefox 1.5 Beta 1
Sep 27, 2005 11:21AM PDT

I'm currently running the Beta 1 of Firefox 1.5. So far, I like. I rearange tabs more than I thought I would, the new way to update extensions is nice, and the new way error pages are displayed is also really well done. Also, I really like how the icon for RSS and Atom feeds is now displayed in the URL bar instead of the lower corner of the status bar. Firefox is fast, it's expandable, it's customizable, it's open-source. What more reason do you need?

What you said was concise and to the point about Firefox.

ie better for securtity
Sep 27, 2005 11:25AM PDT

as far as i'm concerned, nothing beats IE security. I may use firefox occasionally for casual browsing, but when it comes to things like online banking and such, I trust IE. also IE won't bog down your system as much if your connection and or pc are slow.

I too use Maxthon and have used it for some time now. It's certainly better than IE6, but have never tried any others but these 2. Would thoroughly recommend Maxthon to anyone, it's the best for my needs and has never had any security problems due to its unpopularity.

My Most Used Browser
Sep 27, 2005 11:40AM PDT

The browser I use most is Firefox 1.0.7 the latest
version, up to date etc.

I must be honest, I added Firefox because I needed a change from the regular looking internet explorer, blue and beige, with no pizzaz.

I have had spyware and viruses both with Internat Explorer 6 (S.P.2) (which I keep constantly updated) and with Firefox. The only Virus Remover I use is Bit Defender Home Edition, which I find miraculous, found viruses that Nortons ignored. I use over 6 spyware removers, each one removes something else. They do not conflict with one another. So my system hopefully will stay very clean. I check them daily.

Firefox has become very popular for more than 1 reason-
1) Many skins( Themes)
2) Many extensions (add-ons) (options)

But if you are into change, the Microsoft website has many options for download such as TweakUI. etc. If you search- you will find plenty of options.
I think many people are extremely jealous of Bill Gates and his ingenious invention Microsoft Windows. Lets face it- he changed our world. Millions and Millions of us are online meeting friends and loves around the world. Thank you Mr. Gates.

Now lets see where the rest of the pack are with regard to changes in the way we go online.

I heard some news that Google is up to something. Lets watch and see.

I still like Internet Explorer. However I do hope that the New Vista they have coming out will have skins and extentions or options for us to change.

Looking forward.

I use Firefox 1.07. Rob says it best. Read his comments.

Firefox 1.0.7 works for me

I'm happy with Firefox but have to admit I wasn't too impressed with Thunderbird. If Mozilla could get that right I could ditch Microsoft all together.

Firefox 1.0.7
Sep 27, 2005 11:45AM PDT

I've been using Firefox since it was still beta, and to me there is simply no comparison between Firefox and Internet Explorer. Firefox is superior, hands down.

I like to try out new programs and browsers, etc. just to see how they all compare. I've experimented with them all...Opera, Netscape, Avant, iRider, and on and on. None of those have been able to match Firefox in my opinion.

Internet Explorer can continue to come out with new versions, but I really don't see what they could offer to draw me back. I think it's hilarious that they've lagged behind Firefox in features for so long, and finally just now have a new release on the horizon which will offer the same features (for the most part) that Firefoz has already had, but since it's Microsoft it's a big deal.

Where's Mozilla in all of this?
Sep 27, 2005 11:49AM PDT

All they ever talk about is IE and Firefox, these articles never mention Mozilla. Which, in my opinion is currently so much better than Firefox. Mozilla has a built-in HTML Composer, Mail client, and IRC Client application, basically everything the old Netscape browser had, and so much more.

Mozilla currently has so many more features than Firefox, yet all the fuss is about Firefox. Another thing I don't like about Firefox is that it looks almost exactly like IE. I started using Mozilla because you could get it to look like the old Netscape Communicator 4. If I wanted something that looked like IE, I would use IE!

SBC/Yahoo DSL
Sep 27, 2005 12:10PM PDT

SBC/Yahoo has a new browser with tabs that can be set to load-up with frequently used sites. So you can have five or six (or more) sites up at once and switch to any of them without waiting for a new site to load-up.

Firefox is still the best
Sep 27, 2005 12:42PM PDT

I use the Beta version of Firefox 1.5, I also tried the Beta version of IE 7 and removed it. It's still not as good as Firefox, Had problems with the browser freezing. I have IE 6 for sites that require it or pages that don't load properly but that's it. Firefox is still much faster and more secure than IE. IE has a long way to go.
