Which biometric device would you most like to see?

Which biometric device would you most like to see in common use?

Retinal scanner (why?)
Fingerprint reader (why?)
Hand reader (why?)
Voice recognition (why?)
Facial recognition (why?)
Other (what is it?)
None--this is way too sci-fi!

capacitance/biometric combo
Oct 23, 2005 8:29PM PDT

I've used hand scanners before, capacitance only, for payroll and attendance purposes at work. I believe the combination of biometrics (fingerprint/handprint) and electrocapacitance would be a much more secure way to help with security. Capacitance does not work on a dead hand/finger/skin-sample. Implants can also be excised. Nor does it work with something electronically/mechanically simulated. ''Prints'' or visually metric sources are easy to copy - no matter what the source. Capacitance is not. I don't really like the intrusive means of having a beam of photons bombarded into my eyes whether on a visible spectrum or not. Sticking my eye up to something for measurement, although an effective means of visuometric verification, seems somewhat intrusive and potentially dangerous when considering the proximity to such a sensitive organ that is required to perform this test. If anything - a combination of hand capacitance and print with the addition of facial structure verification would suffice. Just as long as we could be assured that no one could enter and change the encrypted database for criminal purposes (from the back door). I've already made plans for accessory free (key/remote/card) entry into my house and car. As far as making my public routine completely traceable? I've got nothing to hide. I'm all for it. Its just a matter of time, anyway.

Surley Voice?

I reckon voice is the best, i mean sure you could pay for things with your finger or acess your bank via facial or retinal scanners, but imagine being able to control EVERYTHING in your house with voice recognition!!!

biometrics

Fingerprint
any finger can be used. It can be put onto a mag stipe track or a smart card. Itrs universally deployable. Card readers are available that can read it and a small scanner can compare the print to whats on your finger.

Easy and potent.

Insane

It's scary enough with internet security to use your credit card online these days.Hackers strive on personal information. It;s a game they never want to lose so putting-Retinal scan, finger and the either so called security deterrents on your pc opens doors that should never be opened. So whats next-the pc micro chip under your skin BT pair up to you pc? We can only build so many walls then were stuck behind them losing freedom and privacy.

Biometric readers
Oct 19, 2009 9:54PM PDT

There are many biometric readers in the market and every organization is using it according to their purposes. The fingerprint reader is widely used in many countries for verification and authentication. The fingerprint reader is good but it is not good for reading rugged or scarred fingers, and there is an alternative for fingerprint readers which is now in the market called the finger vein reader. The finger vein reader can be used in industries where workers use their hands every now and then in places likes coal mines , construction sites etc. I have this friend who has been using the finger vein reader recently that he bought from a biometric company called M2SYS Technology, to keep track of his employees time and attendance in his construction site. He is practically in love with the system as it is secured and accurate and saves him a lot of time and money. If you are interested then you can visit this site http://www.m2sys.com.

Fingerprint reader is efficient

Depends upon their usage. For a regular use by the HR departments of the company to maintain their employee turnout.

A very good website for this is www.smartisystems.com
