In reply to: Get AVG Free

...too many to list here (Including Norton, McAfee etc. etc.) and AVG free is, hands down, the best.

Been using with NO problems for MANY years now.

Just my opinion.

very happy with it as I have been. The paid version has tech support but not normally needed.
That said, you or your machine may prefer another due to a preferred user interface or tech reasons, but I'd try AVG Free first.Updates almost daily. Enjoy! Happy

is for Vcom fix it utilities. While I believe they use the MCafee data base, etc...the virus engine is unbelievably fast. You even hit a web page with a virus and it's there, stopping it and allowing you to remove it. I have used it for years now and have had many people switch to it. The virus scan is thorough and faster than anything else I have used. Yes you have to pay for it though, but it comes with all sorts tools and is a very well rounded software. Never takes up resources, the virus update data base is very quick and up to date. It also has anti spyware app too. It costs about 39.00 but if you have a previous version it's about 29.00 to upgrade, however it's only about every 3 years you need to buy a new one and you get minor upgrades for free until the latest comes out.

For a free anti-virus , I have to say AVG hands down.

Just my opinion though,

Paul

I have SystemSuite Professional from VCom - they use Trend Micro's antivirus and spyware definitions - ONLY FYI Wink

I am using it already for many years Wink

I was dealing so much with Mcafee lately, and I had already posted the reply and thought, oh crud, but since it wasn't dire to anyones pc, I left it alone..lol. I am running v.6 pro right now, and I don't think I will ever go to anything else, it has never caused problems for me or anyone I have gotten to buy it, they still use it and love it as well. Been using it since V4.

Thanks for that Wink

Norton - Kaspersky - BitDefender
by MissMhanna / January 5, 2010 7:00 PM PST

I've tried Norton Kaspersky and BitDefender, they are the best ever. I also tried AVG it's good but caused me probs and McAfee didn't detect all the threats and viruses. (All of them paid versions)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
