Given that battery life issue, and a virus/other can wipe it out we can't call any unit reliable.
Mulitasking is not changed in any way as I switch from one i5 laptop to another so no winner there.
The Lenovo is a nice thought. Is that the one with the keyboard drain?
Doctoral student. Time for a new laptop. I have roughly $600 to spend.
* i5 processor
* Strong reliability
* 15" screen
* Multitasking (I run quite a few apps at once while researching)
The machine does NOT need strong graphics/videogaming/multimedia capability (not my focus), weight is NOT an issue, Windows 8 NOT necessary (7 is fine), and the "look" of the machine is immaterial.
Through a "family and friends" discount, I can get a Lenovo ThinkPad E530 (i5-3210, 4GB, 500GB hard drive) for $575. Any better ideas?
Help is MUCH appreciated, thanks.
