which 1- ASUS Eee PC 1005HA or Acer 11.6" AO751h-1145?

I have looked over and over at both of these netbooks. I like the asus because of it's battery life, 10.5 hours and it feels good under your hands but then i go look at the acer netbooks and if i go down in price a bit i can get either the Acer Aspire One AOD150-1240 , which only has about a 4 hour battery life for around $270 or the acer AO751h-1145 with the 11.6 screen for around $348 and it comes with more harddrive, more ram and windows vista and the keyboard is very similar to the asus. plus the asus runs about $380. but is the Asus worth that in comparison? this is my dilimma? which is the better brand? i have had people tell me STAY AWAY From the acers, they are cheap and not worth your money, while others tell me for the use i need, which is writing, saving to flash drive and connecting to internet on the road, it will be fine, no need to go the extra money, but i don't want to spend the less money and make the mistake i can't take back. Everywhere you go now if you open it, they charge you a restocking fee if you take it back so if you buy it you better be very sure you will like it! so if anyone has suggestions to make, Please, give me some feedback. Should i just go with the Acer, save my money and later on get a laptop to make up for any shortcomings i have, or just go for a Asus and will that do the job i'm looking for more so than the acer in the longer run? I welcome any advice? thanks!

A netbook is NOT a laptop. Do not confuse this. I'm running into people that say things like "STAY AWAY From the acers, they are cheap and not worth your money".

I own the 8.9 inch Acer with the larger battery and under use it gets 4 solid hours. Yes the reviews showed double that but by now you know to take a review's hours and halve that for reality.

I would never use my netbook in place of a laptop for "work." That would have me calling it junk.

In reply to: First.

not planning to use it to replace my laptop, just looking to downsize for travel, i only use it to write, save to flashdrive and connect to internet when i'm out on the road, i don't save anything to the laptop or will to the netbook, that's why i am asking which of these two is really the better one for the money, do i need to spend the extra money for the ASUS or is the acer a good enough brand for the money, i can save myself around $100 and get the acer right now, i lose in trade about 4 hours of battery life and the difference in processor speed from 270 to 280, other than that, i can't see a difference between the two., the acer runs 278, the asus runs 370 but i'm willing to go the $370 if it's a better built netbook for the money, i don't want to spend $270 for a piece of junk is basically what i'm saying. i do know netbooks are NOT a substitute for a laptop. trust me i'm aware of that.

Would buy it again. I have the big battery and zero troubles. But it is used for what it is. That is, travel, wifi, presentations and light use.

I added a Logitech V450 Nano Mouse and since my software demos involve blue tooth a nano blue tooth dongle.

Yes, I'd buy it again. Might opt for the new 10.1 inch screen.

Acer or ASUS?

I'm leaning toward the acer, just for the price and figuring if for any reason down the road it doesn't suit my needs i can always buy a laptop to use as well but this is mostly for a convenience issue. travel, writing, taking with me on trips, etc. i want one that will be handy when i have to stay over at the hospital with my mother or on long trips and i won't have to carry around a heavy laptop. so it's more a convenience issue. I just want to make sure it's durable and the money is spent on something that is well made. i think i will opt for the 10.1 inch screen, i have looked at the 11.6 inch screens but the bigger i go the more i know i get to that laptop i used to carry so i don't want to get to big, plus i don't think i will really need the 2 gb or the larger harddrive for the use i need. I just didn't know if ASUS was the better buy over Acer or not. thanks!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
