Well, what softwares do you use on your laptop? If it is those basic office softwares, getting a Macbook is an overkill, in which you can just get a normal intel/AMD based laptop, throw in OpenOffice for office applicaions, you'll still spend only 1/3 of a Macbook. The rest you can just reward yourself with other stuffs like upgrading more memory, bigger harddisk (maybe go with 320GB).
I;m not downplaying Macbook as I'm using 1 myself and Windows. Each served different purposes as I used my Macbook for my emails (though some weird thing about having tons of emails in a folder won't download new ones until I moved them away) and at times, photoshop.
But I use my Hp laptop for programming, office works, audio encoding, backup/restore my mobile contacts (I'm using different brands, thus seperate the backups instead of 1 main backups).
But if you wait for a newer models, then you'll have to wait always, as new models always comes out with better specs. You need it, you should just get it, unless it's not vital to get it now/soon.
I've had few friends now influence me to make the change to Mac. I've always had a windows machine since I was a little child but never really been one of those people who love it although I did used to be Anti-Mac/Apple which has changed.
I'm unsure if replacing my current HP Windows laptop with the new aluminum 2.4ghz 13.3" MacBook?
I've read many reviews and discussions although whilst asking my friends with Mac's they laughed at me. So thought I'd ask on a forum for more opinions.
I've been studying Accounting and plan to go to university and do Finance/Business and concerned there may be programs I will have to use that may not work efficiently or at all on Mac.
The 'Snow Leopard' I read was due out in September, friend said it's the new OS and was curious should I wait?
Also read that it's expected for Apple to bring out newer MacBook's within the next couple of months.
I'm quite set on the MacBook but I'm also scared because I don't want to regret getting one and being stuck with one as much as they look very good outside and in.
I want a laptop that is good for games but doesn't need to be state of the art just work efficiently with decent graphics and fps, for study purposes and just everyday general usage.
Thanks for your time~
