Whether to buy Camcorder in USA or UK??

Feb 18, 2006 12:05AM PST

We are going to buy a camcorder probably the Canon dc20, if we bought it in the states it appears to be much cheaper BUT would we then have a problem using it in the UK ?? Are there any technical features that are different with US models? Is it also possible to buy direct from a US website to deliver to UK?
Appreciate your advice !

The repair issue kills this one.

The system is simple. If repair is needed, you have to send it to the country you bought it in. Your savings vanish.

Pal / NSTC issues

Not know if you are trying to compare buying NSTC camcorder in the UK vs the US or the cameras in general (Pal version in the UK vs NSTC version in the US). The otehr issue is the warranty. The warranties are geared for the laws of that country. So you would have to ship your unit overseas to fix under warranty.
