Question

Where to connect TV set top boxes

Mar 12, 2016 2:35PM PST

I've connected a YSP 4300 soundbar to a 55JS8500 Samsung. Should I connect my two set top boxes to the soundbar. Would my Tv recognise this setup?

Problem with Samsung UE55JS8500TXXU showing up the soundbar
Mar 14, 2016 1:31AM PDT

Yes, It is precisely these models. I tried both methods. First, connecting to Samsung's one-connect. Having failed, I connected everything to soundbar. My main problem is that the TV is not recognising the soundbar. I have used the HDMI cable slotted in the appropriate arc jacks of each, with no result. Unless the TV screen shows up the soundbar, I cannot open the YSP 4300 setup. My question is whether the fault is with the HDMI cable or I'm missing some step. Could be the soundbar jack is defective. Highly improbable, because the TV source button accepts it. Please, help.

But if it's incompatible I have no solution. Time to return it as defective.
