When the antivirus is expired. The AV block most web access but some things work. That's the only thing that looks to match here.
Like any good little forum user, trying to get help for his internet problem, I will attempt to provide any useful information that I think is relevant.
For about 2 months now, i have been unable to access the internet on my desktop computer. I say "2 months" because i have found a very strange workaround. Uninstalling the internet drivers and re-installing them: this makes my desktop's internet absolutely fine for around 3 hours. I expected the problem to fix itself. Every Internet related process times out after that rough 3 hour period UNLESS the process is already running while the 3 hour period is ending, in which case it will continue indefinably. I find that to be the strangest thing of all.
I am always tweaking things in my router and computer settings, but i don't know how to get out of this one. I am being told that there are no problems with the internet on both on my Technicolour Gateway (router access). But Troubleshooting the internet sometimes gives me some very unhelpful responses e.g 'your device appears to be correctly configured but resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding'.
What i have done to try and fix this permanently: I have factory reset my router, done a DNS flush via CMD and tested my computer by removing all other devices from internet access. When this problem pops up again, I am going to attempt an IP reset, until then.
This is my first internet problem of this type so i might be barking up the wrong tree. That's why i need an expert to point me in the right direction. I might be using the wrong website or forum, if I am, then apologies.
Any help or advice would be awesome!
