Not many in US

In reply to: Lots to choose from.

I don't know what the UK link that you sent me has, but google sent me to the US link and there was only a couple. Ill ask around on ebay because there's one with any small part that i need. hopefully i can get it from there.

Anyhow Dell UK would be my next stop if Amazon.uk doesn't have it.

Any reason why you need more than this part? It's a module IMO.

I dont want to change the lamp yet, unless i have to

In reply to: Link dead.

The lamp, when i attempt to turn the projector on, will come on for just a quick second, then turn off, so i dont think the lamp is dead. The small chip on the projector its self looks to be in pretty bad condition, and really crusty, so i want to replace that first. If it isnt that, i will replace the lamp. I posted another link to a forum post with the picture since dropbox insta-boke my link

That seems to take me to some discussion.

In reply to: Sorry, dropbox instantly broke my link

Now I don't know what you want. Back to Dell?

Very very few folk do chip work today. Even with our army of engineers, some that have solder irons and grey or no hair don't do this. They replace the board the chip is on if that's suspect. And they'll buy units for cheap off ebay to scavenge if need be.

i want to replace the board that i cant find

In reply to: That seems to take me to some discussion.

ive looked all over ebay, and contacted dell, and have had no luck to find the board so, im going to just buy the entire projector that i can get cheaply, and just hope that it has a working part in it.

That's pretty much what you do for old gear and cars.

Not much I can add here except it's how its done.

The problem also is technology marches on and can crush old gear like that. My brother uses this one -> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QXS8L6I/ and for the repair prices and even the price of two lamp modules, we can get that new unit.

yeah, and its not always easy

I am going to put a bid on an ebay listing for a really cheap projector and hope i can at least get some parts out of it
