Where can I get ex link cable for LN52A650 to omnimount?

by iamme48 / January 14, 2010 1:50 AM PST

I mounted my LN52A650 to an omnimount power 55. I am assuming I can connect through the exlink cable, but I don't have one. What do I use and where can I get one?

Thanks

iamme48,

I would recommend visiting www.samsungparts.com or calling 800-627-4368 (Samsung's parts department) to see if they stock that part.

Thanks for the response.

I had called and they said they didn't have it. But in looking on-line at samsungparts.com I find a AH39-40001ZG Stereo Cable/Audio Cable. Do you think that would be it?

iamme48,

I don't think that would be it. You might try to see if Onmimount has a compatible cable for specific televisions.

I wish I could help further, but that would be up to the mount manufacturer if we don't have a compatible part.

Thank you again. I called Omnimount the day I hung the wall mount, and they sent me a pdf image of cord, but they say don't supply it. I think it is time to call again. Thanks again...by the way...the Samsung TV is awesome!

from what I can tell the serail link on the Power55 is just a 3.5mm sterio jack pinned out for serial use. The same for the Ex-Link on the samsung monitor. So it would be just a 3.5mm sterio cable male to male. How ever I do not beleave that the serial control values are going to match up. If you are looking for a Db9 serail male to 3.5mm male cable you can do a search for "RapidRun RS-232 Adapter" that should be a good cable to go from the Ex-Link to a computer and I would be willing to bet the same type of cable could be used to go from the Power55 to a computer. The serial connection for the Ex-Link sould be 9600,8,n,1 not sure for the Power55 but these setting are used for many different connection. I hope this help some
I am about to get a samsung un55c8000 and looking at a motorized mount but will most likely have to build my own. or build an interface to go between the tv and the mount to translate the commands.

Thanks for going to all the trouble to answer the question. Don't think I am as handy as you are in this area, but it gives me another thing to try. We are extremely happy with the tv and mount, and simply keep the remote close to the kitchen counter so my wife can swivel the mount when she wants it towards her or move the tv a bit if there is a reflection on the screen from windows/doors in the room.

Good luck with your project.
