Question

where can I download the games that came on Windows XP?

Jun 1, 2011 9:37PM PDT

I accidentally deleted the games such as pinball that came on Windows XP through an optimizer program which nuked programs that aren't used that much.
I do not have an XP disc to use. Is there a site to download these from? I have already checked Microsoft's home page and the only thing that popped up during a search are other pinball games etc. - mostly for sale. I want the original ones.

I'd copy them from another PC that has XP.

but in XP the games that came with the OS can be 'hidden' from the user.

It's always a danger using Optimizer programs because of the mess they can create, but if it did it's job properly, then you may be in luck.

Goto the Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs, then find the "Add/Remove Windows Components" in the left hand bar and click that.

In the new window, find "Accessories & Utilities", (at the top), highlight it, then click the Details button. In the new window, highlight games, then hit the Details button.

See if any of those deleted games are there. If so, tick the ones you wish.

he didn't have the XP disk. So he can't do a repair, I'm afraid.
