where are bits

Where do I look to find out if I have 32,64 bits? I've seen it on gaming machines but not my computer. Thanks

would have bought a system with the 64 bit version of Win XP without doing it intentionally.

Be aware that most system busses have been 64 bits wide, and CPU's read 64 bits at a time for many years. Just that until recently very little software was written for 64 bits busses, they simply put 2 pieces of 32 bit data [et al] onto the bus and the computer gets two items per read. [oversimplification].
