When will the 4gb microSD cards come out?

Hi, I'm interested in buying a 2gb microSD card but I want wait for the price to come down a bit first. Does anyone know when the 4gb microSD cards will come out or when the cards price is expected to drop a bit more? thanks.

4gig SD cards

I thought they were already out.
I have been seeing announcements for months.
Toshiba announce a 8gig card way back in October.
Lexar just announced the 4gig, and said it will be available in February.

While you are waiting, you should contact the maker of your camera to see if your camera can handle a 4gig card.

If your camera is over a year old, it probably cannot handle a 4gig card. Even with the new cameras, not all can handle 4gig cards.

As far as prices......I can find 1gig cards on sale for $20 to $25.

Staples puts some cards on sale every week.

When you say, "the 4gb card it already out", do you mean the microSD or the SDcard? Also do you know when the prices will drop again?

4GB cards

The only ones I have seen mentioned are the SD cards.

I have not seen any announcements on the Micro SD cards.

Prices fluctuate with how much competition is around.
Since 4GB cards are in short supply, don't expect great prices very soon.

My local Staples store has been putting 1GB SD cards on sale for as little as $20.

Another alternative, may I suggest ?

Get yourselves a portable storage or multimedia storage, such as Epson P5000, Nexto, and Compact Drive. Consider the quantity storage, in the long-term, it's cheaper for the amount of GBs. In addition, it won't take forever to loading the picture files.
