When Will Companies Get it? A Rant from Bermuda to the US

May 26, 2006 11:16AM PDT

Did you know there are other countries that want to have the same usage of a product ad the US?
"WHAT! No way?!"
Yeah its true.
When microsoft or apple or whoever puts out a product in more than one country we want the SAME usage as if we were in the US!
We do not want a "This service is not avaiable outside of the US Sign!"
Whats that?
They are trying to make it avaiable?
Well they're Sure taking they're time with it!

Yep they did it there too.

What really stinks for me is that My ISP (New Zealand) has all its servers based in the US, so I have to abide by US laws, but get none of the benefits of being in the US.

We get to loose both ways

From someone who lived there (bermuda)
May 28, 2006 8:28PM PDT

And so happy to be gone from there, it is not their issue. It is the licensing issues not the suppliers ( ie. Fox, ABC, Apple and whomever) They would love to open this all up to everyone, but someone has to pay for it and it is advertisers.
There duty is not just to the viewers, but the people who pay for advertsiment.

Why would ABC want to make programs available, when the advertisment that they use to pay for it will only benifet the advertisers market and that is in the United States. Not the person sitting in Bermuda. YOUR only 60 thousand people on a 25 sq mile rock, not 6 million covering a heck of a lot more space.

They get it all right... go where the money is..

Why not take your scooter and pull up to Micheal Douglas's estate and complain to him? Or Ross Perot while he isn't destroying coral reefs to extend his jetty? Perhaps with all their money and pull in Hollywood, they can pull some strings.
