When quitting game the system will restart..scandisk...

XP Pro sp1 Pentium 3 1 ghz 256 ram
Whenever I hit ''quit game the system will automatically restart (games in particular)FIFA Football 2002,Halflife..etc.
any ideas from the experts.. thanks Arnold

This screams WARRANTY. P3 at 3+GHz is new and you need to pester the maker.

I use to play the same game in my WinME System just fine.. thanks

Truly missed that one. Here's some items to look at.

1. Be sure the machine is COOL! Remove that case cover and point a fan at it.

2. Be free from all PARASITES noted with the tools at http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&start=0

3. After 1 and 2, review the XP Shutdown Articles two clicks off the Shutdown link at http://www.aumha.org/articles.htm

4. After 1, 2, 3 I'd look at POWER SUPPLY RATING (read http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20040122/

5. After 1, 2, 3, and 4, I'd look at a run of http://www.memtest86.com for about an hour. Regardless of runtime, the only answer is ZERO errors.

Off to find the coffee.
