If it's not the same old issue then I fear you'll have to find out what's new about this issue. I have fixed this too many times with the usual cures. But you claim these don't work so I'm going to assume you rebooted, it failed to fix so unless there are more clues you are likely looking at reloading the OS and losing anything that was not on backups.

Interesting issue but it would be nice to hear how this is different from the prior "usual."

any other idea
May 28, 2013 2:59AM PDT

I think this the problem started because I changed the icon not realizing that it would cause an issue I have since changed the icon back. I really really don"t want to have to reboot because I haven't been backing things up. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, and it's frustrating, and costing me money cuz I work out of my home. Any suggestion you have would be helpful

Thanks,
Mandy

By reboot I mean
May 28, 2013 3:03AM PDT

Click on the Start button, shutdown and restart. If you don't backup, and reboots can cause loss I'd fix that first since a reboot is required for the change I know to take effect.
