When I click on "View Source" from the bar - it doesn't show

Hello - when I click on "View Source" from the view bar...it doesn't allow me to view the source code of a web page, or anything.....is there something locked on my computer that doesn't allow me to view the source code of a website, etc...?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - CH... Wink

Does it apply to all websites you visited or just to a few? Have you tried viewing the source using the right click context menu? There are webmasters who intentionally write a javascript to protect their websites by disabling the right click context menu.

Yes, it applies to ALL websites visited, etc....and I did also try to use the right click context menu.

I'm really stumped on this one....

Hope you can help.

In addition to IEFIX that Bob suggests you might try emptying your cache then trying to view source. Sometimes that works.

You might also have changed your default viewer. Try setting it by opening the Internet Options dialog then the Programs tab. Select Notepad or another text editor as the html editor.

Just curious but what options do you get if you click on the File menu then the Edit option after browsing to the page you want to see the source of?

Let's try the easy fix first. Look up IEFIX on google.com and decide if you can use it.

Remember that parasites are known to disable notepad.exe so if notepad.exe doesn't run, you could have a pest issue.

Hello Bob and everyone else...I ended up deleting my temporary internet files, and that seemed to have worked....funny thing is, is that when this all happened, it also locked the ability to save gif and jpg images at their current extensions...but would save only as bmp instead.

Go figure why this continued to happen, but....thanks to everyone for the extra help in clearing up this annoying matter..... Wink))
