You don't want to know the long list of causes but one I continue to run into are HDDs with high values in 01 and 07.
A SPECCY REPORT will let me know if that's a source.

Computer starts lagging intermittently. Games play at 10-15fps. Restart fixes it.
Blue screens 3-4 times a week: "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE, atikmpag.sys failed", several other different errors; I didn't write them down.
Screen went green today. Fixed with restart.
Recently updated the HD to an SSD and updated the gfx card-- first updates since I built the computer in 2011.
