Question

What's this with "old white men" being a problem?

I guess I need to be plead guilty of being one of them but didn't realize what a scourge I was. I guess we're in the same class as "short people" who "got no reason to live". Happy

you should find it's most recent use which made the news. I'll give a little help with the search terms but these probably won't last long. The story behind it is both sick and sad.

With the hard usage America has given its presidents and other public officers for a couple of centuries. I can't understand how even airhead celebrities [Baldwin, Griffin] can miss the seriousness. The SS is required by its marching orders and common sense to see absolutely no humor in an act like hers. I'm guessing she has put herself on their lifetime watch list.

I viewed a few youtubes of her performances and found myself to not be amused and further wondered what passes as humor today. To become more PC, a comic needs to avoid certain ethnic jokes or those related to gender. We don't allow age, gender or sexual preference to be reasons to discriminate either. So why does this "comic" think that referencing "old white men" is perfectly OK in regards to those she's had to fight? Is this a class of persons that's been excluded from proper PC language? I'm not personally insulted, however.

It must be difficult to be a successful comedian these days when there are fewer people to pick on and all that's left to make one stand out among the others is to out "filth" them. She's no Red Skelton.

but seems to be typical with her types of actions by the 'celebrity' left is that they have used 'comic relief' as an excuse for bad behavior and actions, but somehow they spin it backwards and turn themselves into victims via 'free speech' and 'comedy'. How in hell did SHE become the 'victim' and now claim that the Trumps are 'ruining her life forever and it's just not fair'?

that the Trump family has or is making the most noise about this. It's coming from other media and celebrity types who want to distance themselves from her actions as well as from a public condemnation through social media channels. The time between this occurrence and the backlash was way to short for any "relentless" attacks by Donald Trump to do any damage. I'd also think that, with most of the noise out there being created by Trump haters, she should have found more allies than enemies. Maybe I was brought up all wrong but I was taught that we need to take the blame and pay the cost of our own mistakes rather than hire lawyers to defect that blame onto someone else.

Seems that most comics are liberal, Dems etc. etc.
Last year someone said, 'Oh how sad for us if that guy gets elected!' Someone else said, 'You kidding? He'll be feeding us material every press conference!'
And so it has been. His allies just say it's more of the lying press.

Illogical Nonsense

In reply to: What's this with "old white men" being a problem?

The idea seems to be that there's a lot of problems in the Western world, and since "old white men" make up a significant portion of Western leaders, past and present, they're the problem.

It's not a logical argument, but the people who use it aren't interested in logic, so it's irrelevant.

in the Middle East and men, young and old, make up more than a significant portion of their leaders....

I'd much rather have OUR problems than THEIRS.....and I'm a woman who agrees with you that the people here using an illogical argument are irrelevant.

from descriptions here, it seems her 'attack' was poorly focused. That's not like her, and her type of comedy needs tight focus. Perhaps she's on the way out.
In any case, since she doesn't have her manicured finger on any button, she can be ignored safely.
IMO.
Kinda cute, though.
