Your answer relies on one or both of these: bios and OS you're using. The BIOS, is found on your mtrbd. and it needs to be at its latest level, check your support vendor website for that on an upgrade if needed. The OS, once the bios issue is out of the way can handle the HD more correctly. Another answer can be found via the HD maker's suppport website which clearly explains all this and can provide a bios subsitiute upgrade of sorts, normally called EZ-bios, but use this as a last resort.
